About Donovan Yi
Describe your journey to real estate.
For 6 years I spent my life teaching Taekwondo so I could fulfill my passion for helping others become what they've always dreamed of. I learned how to motivate, inspire and connect with others in order to bring out their potential. After my wife and I got married, we started planning for our dream home and real estate investments. However, we realized that it was very important who you worked with in terms of a Realtor -- and that's when I made the leap into real estate. I want to help my clients be inspired and achieve their real estate potentials, as well. From Taekwondo and my moral fabric, I maintain a high level of courtesy, integrity, self-control, perseverance, and indomitable spirit. When I came across Sequoia Real Estate, I was greatly pleased that they embodied the same passions I have when I teach. With Sequoia's great training and guidance, coupled with my goal to exceed my clients' expectations, I'm proud to have found my calling to find you your new home or get the most out of your current one.
What most excites you about your work?
Getting people where they need to be. I love being challenged with meeting and exceeding my clients needs. Whether it's negotiating for the best price, or finding a home that meets all of my clients needs, I am most at home when I'm being challenged with providing the best possible outcome for my client.
What are three words your clients would use to describe you?
Kind, compassionate and knowledgeable.
Where can we find you when you're not working?
You can find me cruising down the HWY 1 on my 1973 motorcycle or spending time stargazing with my wife. If you know of any great stargazing spots in the bay, let me know!
Anything else you'd like to tell people about yourself?
I love meeting new people and learning about the different cultures they come from. For the most part, I find that real life stories can be more exhilarating and exciting than any movie or TV show.
If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?
Peregrine Falcon. Free spirited, fast and graceful, it stands as my top pick for what embodies my beliefs in an animal.
What Bay Area city would you like to live in and why?
San Mateo. I love it's mix of family friendliness, warmth and fun. It also has some of the best food you can find anywhere in the bay!
What would you say to a 5-year-old child if he or she asked you what the purpose of life is?
Never give up. Find something you love and don't let go until you've achieved greatness. It's not about what you do, it's about how long you do it.
